PETER HEEL

The past and its tales lie within, however always with a particular meaning, out of or against which the shaping and form of the object emerges.
Through my part a shift in function takes place, the purpose of an object gets changed into a new context.
Normally the original purpose of the initial object can be clearly seen or sensed. Because of that often a sense of lightheartedness develops, almost humour, sometimes sadness as well, however always poetry.
I´m pleased when this happens, it means a piece of work was successful. It has a sense of ease about it. The sense of ease and poetry are important criteria for my work.
As a craftsman I occupy myself with the problems of a craftsman, with the materials and how to handle them and also with the law of physics.
As an artist, I am interested in the laws of aesthetics, but also in the laws of thought and sense.
